New Version of TX Text Control Released

The Imaging Source announced TX Text Control version 14.0,with many improvements and much technical innovation. In addition to theformats DOC, RTF, HTML, and PDF, documents also can be created, modified, andsaved in the new ISO ratified Microsoft Word format.

 The Imaging Sourcemanufactures the TX Text Control line of software components to edit, convert,create, and modify standardized document formats, such as Office Open XML, DOC,and RTF. Documents can be edited directly in the browser, using the component spage view, or on the server, using document templates and data from a database.The resulting document can be exported to a number of formats, including AdobePDF.

 Demand from thecomponent s customer base to add support for Microsoft Word standard OfficeOpen XML (DOCX) has been strong. The latest version of TX Text Control nowoffers this ISO-ratified format as one of its many supported file formats. Inaddition to the new XML-based MS Word format, legacy Word formats, such as Word97 and 2003, Rich Text Format (RTF), and HTML are supported. Furthermore, AdobePDF documents can be created and saved.

 TX Text Control.NET 14.0 has been optimized for Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, supports thenewest .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5, and ships in 64-bit and 32-bit versions forall current Windows editions.

 Document sectionswith various page formats and different headers and footers are supported. MicrosoftWord formatted documents and templates, which contain mail-merge fields, can becreated. All the typical fields of Microsoft s Office packet are now supportedby TX Text Control as default.

 The serverfunctionality has been extended to include the new MailMerge component, withwhich Word templates can be populated with data from a database. This allowsprint-ready documents to be created on the server. The server version of TXText Control ships with a freely distributable template designer.
