HostMySite showcased the World s Fastest Server at this year s South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSW), in the form of an electric drag bike. This electric drag bike, capable of going from 0-120 mph in eight seconds, houses an integrated server that distributes content and data to web pages while it accelerates down the track. This first-of-its-kind drag bike is outfitted with web cams, GPS, accelerometer, and other sensors serving web data while in motion.

HostMySite s support employees have worked as a voluntary team during off-hours to create the World s Fastest Server. Project leader Shawn Darby, who owns and manages the full service all-brand motorcycle shop Darby Customs, has been working to make this project a reality.

HostMySite and The Code Project, a website formed to provide developers with a place to meet and exchange ideas, jointly announced the World s Fastest Server LAMP Challenge. This contest challenges developers to create an innovative application to run on the data feed from the high-end server infrastructure in the World s Fastest Server and post an article about it on The Code Project (www.codeproject.com). The winner, as selected by the votes given by The Code Project developer community, will receive a dedicated server for life from HostMySite. The deadline is March 31, 2009.
