AltovaAnnounces Release 4 of its Version 2004 Product Line
Altova,producers of Altova XMLSPY, announced the immediate availability of Release 4of its Version 2004 (v2004r4) product line. Among the major enhancements aregreatly extended data-mapping functionality in Altova MAPFORCE 2004, acompletely redesigned Altova STYLEVISION 2004, and upgrades to XMLSPY 2004.
In addition to the many new features inv2004r4, Altova has also taken steps to provide greater value to its customers.Effective immediately, the Altova Support and Maintenance Package (SMP) nowincludes coverage for major software releases. Additionally, the company hascreated two specially priced software bundles.

AltovaEnterprise XML Suite includes v2004r4 Enterprise Editions of XMLSPY, MAPFORCE,and STYLEVISION.
AltovaProfessional XML Suite includes v2004r4 Professional Editions of XMLSPY,MAPFORCE, and STYLEVISION.
Newin MAPFORCE v2004r4.MAPFORCE 2004 maps data between diverse input sources and output targets usinga drag-and-drop interface, then automatically generates programming code inJava, C++, and C# for royalty free use. With v2004r4, MAPFORCE will now beoffered in two editions: Enterprise and Professional. Some of the manyadditions to MAPFORCE include:
Greatlyenhanced mapping functionality, which provides the ability to map anycombination of XML, database, and EDI data into XML and/or databases.
Addeddatabase support. MAPFORCE now supports all the most popular relationaldatabases: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, andSybase, as well as any ADO/ODBC database.
TheMAPFORCE Engine enables the user to preview the output of any mapping project,even if one or more of the sources is a database or an EDI file, or if thetarget is a database.
XSLTfiles as function libraries lets the user add existing XSLT files as librariesand all named templates in those files automatically become available as datatransformation functions.
AllNew STYLEVISION v2004r4.STYLEVISION has been completely restructured around its graphical stylesheetdesigner functionality. Now available in Professional and Enterprise Editions,STYLEVISION 2004 supersedes the stylesheet designer application formerly soldwith XMLSPY. New features include:
Databasereporting, which allows users to access database data from any major database,process it in XML, and render it into eye-catching HTML pages or PDF reports,all in one simple step.
AUTHENTICForms preview, which provides the ability to design and preview AUTHENTICForms, which give business users a non-technical way to enter and edit XMLcontent using the word processor-like interface of Altova AUTHENTIC 2004.
Newsupport for command-line operations, which allows systems integrators to callits functionality from within other applications without spawning its graphicaluser interface.
Newin XMLSPY v2004r4.Altova has added more advanced functionality to XMLSPY, including:
A newadvanced text view, which provides context-sensitive entry helpers, linenumbering, book marking, source folding, indentation guides, detailed find andreplace functionality, and significantly increased performance.
Extendeddatabase import/export functionality, which now interacts directly with themost popular relational databases, including Microsoft Access, SQL Server,Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, and IBM DB2.
XML-awarefile differencing and merging, which enables the user to intelligently comparethe XML content, considering variations in formatting, namespaces, attributeorder, etc., and then merge the selected changes.
NewSupport and Maintenance Pack. Altova SMP now covers major product updates as well as minorreleases and priority technical support. The support period begins on the dayof the product purchase and runs for one or two years, depending on the lengthof the SMP plan purchased.
