The Windows NT 4.0 Load Balancing Service (WLBS) creates a WLBS Virtual NIC entry on the Adapters tab in the Network tool in Control Panel.

Windows 2000 Network Load Balancing (NLB) does not create a virtual adapter, because you can enable NLB on an adapter in Control Panel / Network and Dial-up Connections by right-clicking the adapter, pressing Properties, and checking the Network Load Balancing box.
