Partnership between SAP, HP, and Microsoft Sets New World Record

Brad Anderson, corporate vice president for Windows Server and System Center at Microsoft, has recently put up a blog post detailing a new collaboration between SAP, HP, and Microsoft. Through the collaboration, Microsoft has confirmed that SAP ERP 6.0, running on SQL Server 2012 and Windows 2012 Datacenter, can be completely virtualized on Hyper-V.

More than simply certifying that SAP can be virtualized, the collaborative effort has done so in a record-setting way. According to Anderson:

The application benchmark resulted in 42,400 SAP SD benchmark users, 231,580 SAPS, and a response time of 0.99 seconds, showcasing phenomenal performance on just 2 physical sockets.
