When you set local policy object in the local users or computers Group Policy snap-in, the settings do NOT take effect when the user logs on or the computer starts?

This problem can occur if local group policies have been disabled.

To resolve the problem:

1. Open the local Group Policy snap-in.

2. Right-click Local Computer Policy and press Properties.

3. Uncheck Disable User Configuration settings and Disable Computer Configuration settings.

4. Press Apply and OK.

NOTE: If the Disable User Configuration settings or Disable Computer Configuration settings boxes are checked, there is no warning message when you configure local policy objects.
