What is Windows skinning/styles?

A. If you use Windows Media Player 7 (WMP7) or later, you know that each application can use a different GUI style, known as a "skin." Microsoft has added this skinning capability to Windows XP, so you can specify a different style for your Start menu and other windows—in fact, you can specify a different style for everything (for more information, see "How do I use Windows XP styles?"). Some third-party packages add this feature to Windows 2000 ( e.g., Windows Blinds from Stardock—http://www.stardock.com). This software provides the same skinning that you get in XP, but you can download extra skins (even a cool Matrix one!) and totally change the OS's look.
