Microsoft Ships Vista SP1 in Additional Languages

Microsoft on Tuesday released versions of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) in the remaining 31 languages the company will support with the operating system update. The initial version of Vista SP1, which shipped broadly to customers in March, supported just five languages, English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.

"To date, millions of people have successfully installed Windows Vista SP1 on their PCs, so we're happy to announce the next step for Windows Vista SP1 availability," Microsoft director Chris Flores noted in the Windows Vista Blog. "We are making Windows Vista SP1 available to folks running Windows Vista in any of the supported languages. Starting today, users will be able to choose to manually install Windows Vista SP1 via Windows Update or download the standalone installer from the Microsoft Download Center for any of the 36 supported languages."

With this week's release, Microsoft has fulfilled an earlier promise to deliver Vista SP1 in all additional languages sometime in April. The update is available via Windows Update, but customers interested in downloading standalone versions of the installer for larger deployments have the following options:

This is a DVD ISO image and contains both x86 and x64 versions of Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone EXE (English, x86)
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone version can be installed on any language version.

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone EXE (English, x64)
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone version can be installed on any language version.
