Q: I was looking at the Azure Site Recovery cmdlets, but they don't seem to work for failover to Azure; what am I doing wrong?
A: The Azure Site Recovery PowerShell cmdlets, as documented in "Introducing PowerShell support for Azure Site Recovery," are initially only for on-premises to on-premises failover and not for failover to Azure. I'm sure this will change in future versions.
