Oracle is making several new components available that let developers read and write XML-formatted data to and from an Oracle database. The developer community can download these components from Oracle Technology Network http://technet.oracle.com/tech/xml?tb623. The components extend the XML components that have been available since December 1998.The new components consist of:
- Oracle XML Parsers for C and C++
- Version 2.0 of the Oracle XML Parser for Java with integrated XSLT processor
- The Oracle XML SQL Utilities and XSQL Servlet
These components will improve the productivity of developers that use XML with an Oracle database. The ability to run all the components withinthe Oracle8i database avoids the cost and complexity of having a separate XML server in the middle-tier.
