Microsoft Technet has published the Windows 2000 Operations Guide Series, which contains:

The Windows 2000 Operations Guide series provides operational guidance for organizations that have deployed, or are considering deploying, Microsoft technologies in a data center or in other types of enterprise computing environments. It provides conceptual information, best practices, and detailed procedures related to the service management process. This guide series is aimed primarily at two main groups: information technology (IT) managers and IT support staff (including analysts and service desk specialists).

The content of the Operations Guide draws from best practice guidelines documented in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) from the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) and from years of IT operations experience by Accenture, Avanade, Compaq Global Services, Hewlett-Packard Company, Lucent Technologies/NetworkCare Professional Services, Compuware Corporation, Unisys Corporation, Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS), and the Microsoft Information Technology Group (ITG).

The Windows 2000 Operations Guide series is encompassed by the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF). The Microsoft Operations Framework provides technical guidance that enables organizations to achieve mission-critical system reliability, availability, supportability, and manageability for all Microsoft products and technologies.
