When you run the Actiuve Directory Installation Wizard on a domain controller, you receive:

The wizard cannot contact the DNS server that handles the name to determine if it supports dynamic update. Confirm your DNS configuration, or install and configure a DNS server on this computer.

A likely cause of this error is that the wizard is trying to locate your DNS server via a diabled or unplugged NIC.

Plugging the NIC into a hub will enable the NIC.

If you can't, install the Microsoft Loopback adapter.
