How can I stop users from being able to map/disconnect network drives?

A. A. This is accomplished using the Policy Editor under normal conditions however it can also be performed by directly editing the registry.

  1. Start the registry editor (regedit.exe)

  2. Move to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer

  3. From the Edit menu select New - DWORD value

  4. Enter a name of NoNetConnectDisconnect and press ENTER

  5. Double click the new value and set to 1

  6. The user will need to log off and on for the change to take effect
