Xbox One Close Application

Q: How can I close the game/application running on the Xbox One?

A: The Xbox One features a hypervisor, which allows the game/application being used to continue running even when the Xbox One main menu is accessed. This allows the game/application to be quickly resumed. If you want to actually stop the game/application, perform the following:

  1. Return to the main Xbox One menu by pressing the home button (the big center X).

  2. Select the main application window on the Home screen.

  3. Press the Menu button (where the Start button used to be on the Xbox 360 controller).

  4. Select the Quit option as shown in the screen shot below.
