Scoreloop Announces Windows Phone 7 SDK for Social Gaming

Scoreloop, a provider of a mobile social gaming platform and development tools, announced the beta launch of its Windows Phone 7 SDK, a toolset that will enable developers to add social gaming capabilities to game applications developed for the Windows Phone 7 OS. This announcement adds Windows Phone 7 to the list of mobile OSs that the Scoreloop SDK already supports: Android, Bada, Airplay and iOS. This will enable mobile developers to add social gaming features to mobile apps across multiple platforms.

Scoreloop’s social gaming platform and SDK lets developers add social elements such as instant communities and connections and ways to generate revenue from mobile games (e.g., in-game purchasing, virtual currencies, in-app promotions).

"Windows Phone 7 is an important step in our goal to encourage and support connected gaming across the entire mobile landscape," said Marc Gumpinger, Scoreloop CEO. "As the first cross-platform social gaming ecosystem to add support for Windows Phone 7, this means we can offer the largest reach, greater revenue potential, and increase the impact of developers using the Scoreloop SDK." Scoreloop claims that its user base is growing at over one million players a week.

Developer familiar with Scoreloop on other mobile platforms should find it easy to extend the same in-game social features into Windows Phone 7. Windows Phone 7 developers new to Scoreloop will receive "comprehensive support from the moment they download the SDK through the whole development cycle to launch and beyond," per the company.

Developers who want to participate in the Scoreloop Windows Phone 7 SDK beta should email Scoreloop. Scoreloop will send invitations for the free Windows Phone SDK to a "first wave of developers." Developers working with the SDK will have direct access to the Scoreloop developer relations team for feedback and support.
