Q: I want to run multiple instances of the same application on a single OS instance, but the application checks whether an instance is already running and won’t launch if it is--would App-V help with this?

A: Although App-V abstracts the application installation from the OS, the actual application is still running on the OS and shows within process monitors like Task Explorer.

If an application checks to see if an instance is already running, virtualizing the application with App-V still wouldn’t allow multiple instances of the application to run concurrently.
