A. Windows Vista and Windows 7 have a nice task switcher, accessible by pressing the Windows key-Tab, that gives a 3D display of currently running applications. You can create a desktop or taskbar shortcut by creating a shortcut that points to the command

Once it launches, you can rotate through the list of applications using the arrow keys and press Enter to select one. If you're using a slate, rotate by touching one side of the screen with one finger and then sliding another finger back and forth.
