Visual Studio 97, announced last month, is a suite of tools aimed atWeb, intranet, and application developers. The suite includes Visual C++5.0, Visual Basic 5.0, Visual InterDev 1.0, Visual FoxPro 5.0, Visual J++1.1, and the MSDN online documentation. An Enterprise Edition addsnumerous other tools, including Transaction Server 1.0, SQL Server 6.5Developer Edition, Visual SourceSafe 5.0, and other visual database tools.

U.S. pricing for the various versions of the products include:

  • Visual Studio 97, Professional Edition: $999

  • Visual Studio 97, Enterprise Edition: $1,499

  • Visual Basic 5.0, Professional Edition: $499

  • Visual Basic 5.0, Learning Edition: $99

  • Visual Basic 5.0, Enterprise Edition: $1,199

  • Visual C++ 5.0, Learning Edition: $99

  • Visual C++ 5.0, Professional Edition: $499

  • Visual C++ 5.0, Enterprise Edition: $1,199

  • Visual InterDev: $499
