Microsoft has released an upgrade for the TCP/IP stack in Windows 95 thatfixes a bug in Internet Explorer 4.0, improves network performance, and, most importantly, fixes all known vulnerabilities in the Windows 95 TCP/IPstack. Previous versions of the Windows 95 TCP/IP stack--which is used toconnect Windows 95 PCs to the Internet and other networks--left the machineopen to various denial-of-service attacks.

Microsoft notes that Windows 98 already includes all of the fixes andupdated code in the new TCP/IP release.
