Why this isn't in Ripley's Believe It Or Not is beyond me, but Microsoft has released Internet Explorer for yet another version of UNIX, this timeHewlett-Packard's HP-UX. Internet Explorer 4.01 for HP-UX became availableon Monday, offering users of that system the standard HP-UX look-and-feel,and extensible platform with plug-in support for email, news, or Web pageediting, and most of the features that Windows/Mac users of IE enjoy today.
"Like Microsoft's other cross-platform solutions, Internet Explorer for HP-UX was developed from the ground up for the native operating environment," said Rob Bennett, a group product manager at Microsoft. "Business users can now get the benefits of the most powerful and easy-to-use Web browser along with their familiar HP-UX experience."
Microsoft has also updated the Solaris version of Internet Explorer to version 4.01, giving it feature parity with the version for HP-UX
