Microsoft releases fix for NT Service Pack 2This would be funny, if it wasn't so stupid: Microsoft has released fixesfor two bugs introduced when they released Service Pack 2 for Windows NT4.0. Service Packs are designed to fix bugs, and SP2 fixed over 100 whileintroducing these new ones. One bug, ironically, involved virus scanners and resulted in the dreaded "Blue screen of death." The second bug affects Point-To-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) Multilink support, disabling automatic multilink. Microsoft downplayed the bugs, despite loud outcries on USENET. I thinkthey should just do better and I find it insulting that they aren't being more upfront about this: one of these bug fixes patches the NT kernel forinstance. Download the bug fixes for the bug fix at:ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt-public/fixes/usa/nt40/hotfixes-postsp2 The (Intel) files are: /krnl-fix/KRNL40I.EXE /ras-fix/RAS40I.EX
