Microsoft is now providing the capabilities of Dynamic HTML to traditionalWindows programmers with a beta version of its Dynamic HTML Editing Component. This component can be embedded in IE 4.0-based Web pages andstandard Windows applications; it will also be included in future versionsof Visual InterDev, Visual J++, and Outlook Express.

Basically, the component allows any application that uses HTML as its userinterface to provide true What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editing capabilities. These capabilities are available to VBScript, JavaScript,C/C++, Java, and other programming languages via COM interfaces.

"The DHTML Editing Component is especially useful for incorporating editinginto HTML-authoring applications, HTML Help, and HTML e-mail applications,"says Microsoft's Nancy Cluts.
