Microsoft today announced their new suite of Internet and software development tools, Visual Studio 97. The suite will start shipping on March 19 and includes new versions of Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual Fox Pro, and Visual J++ as well as the initial release of Visual InterDev. Microsoft SQL Server 6.5, Visual Source Safe, Microsoft Repository, Visual Modeler, and Merchant Server are bundled with the Enterprise Edition, which is geared toward teams of developers who build multitier client-server and intranet applications.

Pricing for the suite will be announced in March
