JSI Tip 7361. You cannot find, or open, the DFS root in the Distributed File System MMC snap-in?

When you open the DFS snap-in, you don't see the DFS root.

NOTE: If you find the root, you may receive The specified Domain either does not exist or could not be contacted when you try to open it. You also receive an error if you use the DFSCMD tool.

I have seen these behaviors if the DfsDnsConfig Value Name is set to a data value of 1. Set the data value of DfsDnsConfig to 0 on all servers that are hosting the DFS namespace.

NOTE: You may have to restart the server(s) for this change to become effective.
