When you run the Adobe Acrobat Reader, you receive:

Acrobat Reader

Failed to update the system registry.
Please try using REGEDIT.

Some versions of the Adobe Acrobat Reader attempt to write the following registry keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAcroExch.Document

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID\{B801CA65-A1FC-11D0-85AD-444553540000}

If you have NOT granted all users the Set Value permission on these keys, you will receive this error.

To resolve the problem, use the Registry Editor's Permissions menu to grant Everyone the Set Value permission on the above keys.

NOTE: The Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 Registry Editor is Regedt32.exe.

NOTE: The Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Registry Editor is Regedit.exe.
