If Windows Media Player 9 is installed on your computer and you re-install, perform an in-place update, or upgrade to Windows XP, Windows Media Player 9 is replaced by the earlier version included with Windows XP. Any programs that require Windows Media Player 9 may not function correctly.

Download and re-install Windows Media Player.
