The subject problem occurs when:

- You have turned off Simple File Sharing (SFS), which is turned on by default.

- You properly configure file and folder ACLs by using local computer groups.

NOTE: The GUI indicates that the user does NOT permissions, even though User and groups are still properly granted or denied access to resources.

NOTE: Windows XP computers that are joined to a domain are NOT affected by this problem.
