If multiple users share the same Windows XP computer with different user accounts, they each have a unique Outlook Express message store, at Documents and SettingsLocal SettingsApplication DataIdentities\{GUID}MicrosoftOutlook Express, where {GUID} is a Globally Unique Identifier.

If you wish them to share the same Outlook Express message store:

1. In Outlook Express, press Tools / Options / Maintenance.

2. Press the Store Folder button on the Maintenance tab.

3. Change the location to a folder that you will use for all users. Record the exact path for use on subsequent user accounts.

4. Press OK to close the Store Location dialog.

5. Press OK to close the Options dialog.

For each subsequent user that you wish to have share the message store:

1. Logon as the next user.

2. Start Outlook Express.

3. Press Tools / Options / Maintenance.

4. Press the Store Folder button on the Maintenance tab.

5. Change the path of the message store per step 3 of the first user.

6. Press OK to close the Store Location dialog.

7. Press OK to close the Options dialog.

8. Exit and restart Outlook Express for the change to take effect.

NOTE: Each user should have Modify permissions to the message store folder.
