As first reported in Dot NET UPDATE, Microsoft has quietly unveiled Hotmail Plus, a new subscription version of the Web-based email system that supplies 10 MB of extra server-based storage for a yearly fee of $12.95. Billed simply as "Extra Storage," the new feature also lets users send attachments of up to 1.5 MB, up from the usual 1 MB limit.

Microsoft says that 10 MB of extra storage will allow users to "store more photos and attachments, keep the important e-mail messages you don't want to delete, [and] send larger attachments...up to 1.5MB per message."
