Exchange Server 5.0, with improved Internet connection support, headed tofinal beta release this week. This new mail server, part of the BackOffice suite of server applications, now features POP3, NNTP, andHTTP support as well as the new Outlook mail client, which is positioned as the ultimate Windows mail program.Also featured is Web browser access to Exchange Server, which allowsusers to easily log into an Exchange account over the Web, log-in securely,check mail, and respond and send new mail. Other groupware products offered this service last year. Currently, the big competition is NetscapeCommunicator, also in beta. Microsoft Exchange Server is due this quarter
