How can I quickly determine whether a particular Windows 2000 domain controller (DC) is also a Global Catalog (GC) server?

An easy way to determine whether an active Win2K DC is a GC server is to look at the properties of the server's NTDS Settings object in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Active Directory Sites and Services console. (If the DC in question has failed, simply open the console on an operating DC.) Expand the SitesSiteServersDC tree in the console's left pane, then right-click the NTDS Settings object and select Properties. If the Global Catalog check box on the Properties dialog box's General tab is selected, the DC is a GC server.
