Dave Mendlen Exits Microsoft .NET Developer Area, Becomes DevExpress Marketing Exec

Dave Mendlen leaves his longtime Microsoft position as Visual Studio and .NET developer spokesman to become DevExpress's chief marketing officer.

DevExpress, a provider of .NET software development components and tools, announced that former Microsoft Visual Studio executive Dave Mendlen will become chief marketing officer for DevExpress, effective September 10, 2011. Mendlen, who is leaving his position as Senior Director, Developer Product Management and Marketing, has a been a key spokesperson for Visual Studio and Microsoft's developer strategy over the last four years, as well as a mainstay of the DevConnections .NET developer conference keynotes.

Mendlen brings to DevExpress knowledge of Microsoft platform marketing accumulated during his 15-year tenure at Microsoft, where he was focused mainly in product marketing and planning in the developer, client OS, and web services areas. "We are very excited to have Dave Mendlen leading DevExpress into its next era of growth,” said Ray Navasarkian, DevExpress CEO. "He is the exact combination of seasoned technology executive and savvy leader that we were looking for, and we are thrilled to have attracted such a developer-focused executive to DevExpress. "
