My company currently uses Exchange Server 5.5 and will upgrade to Exchange 2000 Server by the end of the year. What's the best way to change the organization name during this transition?

Microsoft supports only one method for changing an organization name in Exchange 5.5: You must use the Move Server Wizard, which lets you move a server from organization A to organization B and create the new organization in the process, if necessary. As far as I know, Microsoft doesn't support using the Move Server Wizard in mixed Exchange 2000 and Exchange 5.5 environments, so you must use the wizard before you begin your migration. You can also use this opportunity to reassess your Exchange 5.5 site design to determine whether you want to consolidate servers as part of your migration. Remember, you can't move the first server in a site out of the site without taking special steps, as detailed in the Microsoft article "XADM: How to Remove the First Exchange Server in a Site" (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q152959).
