In a world where everything is moving to the Cloud, it's nice to see something released for those that still adore being grounded. I imagine a scene, like those in movies, where a tragic air flight causes passengers to literally kiss the ground when the plane finally lands. Such is the way of the migration to the Cloud for many.
Touting close to 200 fixes, which includes all updates since SP1 released along with compatibility improvements for Windows 8, IE10, Office 2013, and SharePoint 2013, the SP2 is a beast. Office 2010 SP2 64-bit tops at over 740MB and SharePoint 2010 SP2 sits at almost 440MB. And, you'll be glad to know that there's not a single mention of "Cloud" or "Azure" in the SP2 changes list.
The service pack bits are all available for manual download today, however, 90 days from now SP2 will be available as an automatic update download from Microsoft Update.
