Remotely Control Windows, Mac, and Linux from an Android Device

Google has released a new remote desktop application for Android devices (smartphones and tablets) that securely connects to and remotely controls PCs running Windows, Mac, or Linux.

With Android devices leading the mobile space, there's a good chance that many of you will want to take advantage of this new release, allowing you to securely access a desktop or server from a remote location.

On each computer that you want to access, the Chrome Remote Desktop application needs to be installed (available from here: Chrome Remote Desktop). Configuration is automatic and the default installation settings are usually pretty solid. However, for specific network configurations, the settings can be modified. The Chrome Remote Desktop PC app requires the Chrome browser be installed (it's a plug-in). It also works on Chromebooks.

Google has promised that an iOS app will be released later this year.
