Vette Corp. Targets Liquid Cooling

Vette Corp., a provider of thermal management products for electronics, has formed a new division focused on liquid cooling products for data centers, the company said today.

Vette is a venture-backed company specializing in heat sinks, heat pipes and fans for computers and industrial equipment. The company's Datacom Facilities Division was announced today, but has been working on product development since June. Its first cooling product will be a rear door heat exchanger using chilled water. Vette says the product can cool high-density 42U racks using up to 30kW of power. The company also offers chillers and cooling distribution units (CDUs) to support the heat exchanger.

"As the heat density of rack-mounted equipment increases, we see system-level and spot-cooling solutions starting to migrate into one completely integrated solution for server cooling, utilizing liquid cooling," said George Dannecker, Vette's President and CEO. "The datacom facilities division will initially focus on server cooling and data center cooling solutions in high-density equipment installations."

Founded in 2004, Vette Corp is headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire and has manufacturing operations in China and Taiwan. Vette employs more than 1,500 employees and has raised more than $45 million in private funding from four leading investment firms: General Catalyt Partners, Kodiak Venture Partners, AllianceBernstein L.P., and 3i.
