Microsoft apologizes to IE users and attempts to allay security concerns

Microsoft senior vice president Brad Silverberg apologized to Internet Explorer users today, in an attempt to allay fears that the browser is asecurity risk. Three bugs were found in Internet Explorer last week.

"Let me apologize for the inconvenience these security issues may have caused you," said Mr. Silverberg. "Looking ahead, security will continue to be an industry issue; although today the issues may be ours, tomorrow they may affect a different vendor. As an industry we must pull together to solve problems and provide you a safe and secure Internet."
