When you uninstall McAfee Personal Firewall by using the Add or Remove Programs applet of Control Panel, you may experience any of the following:

- You cannot view Web pages.

- You cannot ping URL addresses.

- 'ipconfig /renew' generates 'An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket'?

To fix this problem:

1. Install McAfee Personal Firewall.

2. Uninstall McAfee Personal Firewall using the Uninstaller tool that MCAfee provided with the product.

3. Shutdown and restart your computer.
