A. You can't slipstream an Office service pack into the Office installation media in the traditional sense—where the service pack is applied to an installation source and upgrades that installation source by replacing and updating various files in the source. What you can do is extract the Office 2010 service pack installation to the Update folder of the Office installation source, which will then automatically apply the service pack once Office has been installed.

The easiest way to do this is to extract the downloaded Office 2010 Service Pack directly into the Update folder using the command

officesuite2010sp1-kb2460049-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:d:softwareoffice201032bitUpdates
