Outline levels

Outline levels are a paragraph format. Heading styles (Heading 1 through Heading 9) have corresponding outline levels configured automatically. If you create custom styles that you wish to appear as a heading in the document map, an outline, or a table of contents, configure outline levels for the style.

To configure an outline level:

  • Choose Format → Paragraph and select from the Outline level drop-down list.
