Just in case you thought record company executives were foisting the most ridiculous antipiracy solutions on users, consider what Hollywood is now doing to prevent users from creating low-quality bootlegs of movies by recording them during viewings with a camcorder: Tinseltown executives are offering $500 bounties for each person they catch making the illegal movie copies, which must be draining the movie industry of at least several dollars of revenue per year. Guys, get a life: Unlike record sales, movie sales continue to skyrocket, and movie companies make even more money on foreign markets, cable, and DVD sales.
