JSI Tip 8850. When you import a .MPEG file into Windows Movie Maker, the file plays poorly or you receive an error?

When the imported file was created by InterVideo WinDVD or InterVideo Home Theater, you experience at least one of the following:

You may receive one of the following errors:

The file File_name.mpeg cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

File_name.mpeg could not be imported. Unspecified error.

When you right-click the timeline and press Play Timeline, you receive:

Too many interfaces. Can not load file.

These problems occur because the codec used to create the file is NOT compatible with Windows Movie Maker.

To fix these problems, convert the file to a different format.
