JSI Tip 8659. Windows 2000 logs Event ID 13559, Event Source NtFrs?

Event ID: 13559
Event Type: Error
Description: The File Replication Service has detected that the replica root path has changed from CurrentLocation to CurrentLocation. If this is an intentional move then a file with the name NTFRS_CMD_FILE_MOVE_ROOT needs to be created under the new root path. This was detected for the following replica set: "%1" Changing the replica root path is a two step process which is triggered by the creation of the NTFRS_CMD_FILE_MOVE_ROOT file.

NOTE: You may notice that %SystemRoot%SysvolPolicies folder and %SystemRoot%SysvolScripts folder are be missing, or contain incomplete data.This behavior may occur if you restore the Sysvol folder, or move the Sysvol folder and then move it back to the original location.

To fix this problem:

1. Open Windows Explorer.

2. Navigate to the root folder of the CurrentLocation folder.

3. Right-click a blank area in the root folder of the CurrentLocation folder and press New and Text Document.

4. Type the following file name and press Enter:

NTFRS_CMD_FILE_MOVE_ROOT

5. If you receive If you change a filename extension, the file may become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it?, press Yes.
