When you attempt to install Windows 2000, you are prompted for additional mass storage drivers, even though you did NOT press F6.

When you insert a driver disk, or specify a location for the mass storage driver, you receive:

There is a problem with the .SIF file on the manufacturer supplied disk. Illegal or missing file types specified in Section Files.Scsi.SYMMPI.

This behavior will occur if Windows 2000 Setup did not recognize your mass storage device(s).

To resolve this issue:

1. Restart your computer.

2. When prompted, press F6 to load the mass storage drivers.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts.
