I addressed other WinMgmt.exe issues at:

Tip 7078 When you view your network properties in Windows XP, you receive 'The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted'?

Tip 7080 An alternate method of recovering from 'The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted' when you view network properties in Windows XP.

Tip 7673 Another alternate method of recovering from 'The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted' when you view network properties in Windows XP.

If you receive a message similar to Windows Management Instrumentation - WinMgmt could not initialize the core parts, try the following:

1. Open a CMD.EXE prompt.

2. Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each one:

winmgmt /clearadapwinmgmt /killwinmgmt /unregserverwinmgmt /regserverwinmgmt /resyncperf
