When you connect to the Windows Update site, new updates are not available, even though your computer is NOT up to date.

If you view the %SystemRoot%Windows Update.log file, it contains an entry similar to:

Error IUENGINE Querying software update catalog from https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/getmanifest.asp (Error 0x800C0008)

To fix this problem:

1. Start Internet Explorer.

2. Type https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/getmanifest.asp into the Address box and press Enter.

3. If you receive a certificate not availble, press Yes to connect.

4. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, press Windows Update.

5. Press Scan for Updates on the Windows Update Web page.
