Telerik announced the availability of a new version of its automated software testing solution, Test Studio. The new release includes load-testing capabilities, as well as integration with the HP Quality Center and defect tracking systems. In addition, Test Studio leverages its existing performance-testing infrastructure, which lets users run a load and performance test simultaneously.

The new release includes Test Studio Explore, an in-browser extension for exploratory testing that lets customers capture and send feedback directly from the application. For example, users can email or export feedback to a Word or PDF document by clicking a button that's located on the browser toolbar. In addition, testers can now push results to the HP Quality Center. Telerik has also included defect tracking systems integration for Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Telerik's TeamPulse that let users submit bugs directly to a project.

Test Studio's portable machine license includes automated functional, performance, and load testing capabilities. In addition, this license includes a Visual Studio plug-in. Visual User packs for load testing are sold separately and pricing starts at $2,500 for 100 virtual users.
