Internet Connection Could Not Be Established

There was a problem in connecting to the Internet. To attempt to connect again, click Try Again.

You have selected Always dial my default connection on the Connection tab in Internet Options and Internet Explorer can connect to the Internet automatically, but this problem persists?

If you have a LAN adapter installed and active, as in a DSL connection, and you also use Dial-Up Networking, this problem will occur.

To workaround this issue, turn off autodial in Internet Explorer and manually connect to the Internet:

1. Use Control Panel / Network and Internet Connections / Network Connections.

2. Press Dial-up Preferences on the Advanced menu.

3. Select the Autodial tab.

4. Clear the check boxes under Enable autodial by location.

5. Check the Always ask me before autodialing box.

6. Check the Disable autodial while I am logged on box.

7. Press OK.

8. Close the Network Connections dialog.

To manually connect to the Internet:

1. Use Control Panel / Network and Internet Connections / Network Connections.

2. Double-click your Internet connection and follow the on-screen instructions.
