Microsoft Band 2 Clasp Protection Against Scratches

Here’s a potential issue that comes up periodically in the Band communities, so I think it’s worth a post.

Due to the position and material of the Microsoft Band 2’s clasp, it can thin attract scratches. I have a few (as shown), but really, for something I’ve been wearing constantly since the first week of November 2015, I’d say it’s held up pretty well. And, I wear my Band with the clasp on the outside of my wrist.

Still, there are those who try to keep their Band in pristine condition, and a scratched up clasp can send even the most unassuming personality into a tizzy depending on the day and the weather.

I’m one of those Band owners that recommend buying and installing screen protector. If you take your time and install it correctly, you can rest assured against screen scratches. Just recently I posted a follow-up review on my choice, the ArmorSuit MilitaryShield. The ArmorSuit has turned into an excellent choice.

For a little more dollar, ArmorSuit also offers a Band 2 protection kit that includes the screen protector that I’ve raved about, but also additional carbon fiber cut-outs for the inside back of the Band and the clasp.

Personally, I’m not overly concerned about scratches on the clasp. I like the worn-in, rugged look. But for those wanting to protect the investment, this is probably a good option.

You can get the kit from Amazon for $12.95: ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Microsoft Band 2 Screen Protector + Black Carbon Fiber Full Body Skin Protector
