If you are in the market for a new Lumia handset here in the US then your opportunity opens up this week with the introduction of the Microsoft Lumia 640 for US based customers.

Cricket Wireless will be the first US carrier to offer this handset and it will be available for $129.99 without a contract.

You can purchase it in certain Cricket stores and through their online store.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 sports the following specs:

  • Display: 5 inches (HD720 1280x720)

  • 8GB of System Storage

  • 1GB RAM

  • MicroSD Storage (up to 128GB)

  • 2500 mAh Battery (User replaceable)

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad core (1.2 MHz)

The LTE capable phone comes with a one year subscription to Office 365 personal which can also be used on an additional PC, Mac or tablet.  That subscription includes 1TB of OneDrive storage and 60 free Skype Worldwide calling minutes each month.

We are waiting on a review unit for the Lumia 640 and will bring you the hands on experience very soon.
